Tues, June 25th, the Historical Society of Islip Hamlet and the Islip Public Library will co-host a program on the Doxsee Family.  James Harvey Doxsee was a prominent Islip resident during the second half of the 19th century.  He was a pioneer in the field of canning clams that were dug by the baymen of the Great South Bay.  His clam products were distributed nationwide.  Harve's great grandson, Bob, followed in the family's seafood business.  Bob's PowerPoint presentation is a combination of pictures and anecdotes which highlights his family from the 1800's to the beginning of the 21st century.  The program will be held at the Islip Public Library, 71 Monell Ave., 7-9 pm, and is free and open to the public.  For more info: www.isliphamlethistory.org, 631-559-2915.  Registration required:  631-581-5933.
