Our Purpose:
To cultivate and develop the understanding and appreciation of the performing arts. Promoting the development of artistic skills through the mentoring of all ages, culminating in the presentation of high quality theatrical productions for the community.
Our History:
Upstage’s roots began with two organizations – “The Hudson Teachers’ Association” in 1989 and “The Columbia Hall Players” in 1990. They were merged in 1991 and became “The Hudson Middle School Friends of the Arts”, a group that produced shows in 1992-93. It was in 1993 that the concept of Upstage was born. Bylaws were written, and the group was officially formed in 1994 and in 2002 Upstage became an official 501 C3.
