Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve is beautiful! I attended the preserve to see the Yes cover band Awaken. My experience is a positive one. There is also a playground where children can play. Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve is a place that everyone can be filled with enjoyment.

It's more than just a playground. My family always enjoys going there. There are hiking trails, animals to visit, a butterfly exhibit, the house is set up like a museum, and of course the BBQ area, horse shoes, bocce, playground, and water area provide plenty of fun for the whole family!

Great park but not being a Smithtown resident it is closed to me from May to Sept every year and there is no way to pay a non resident fee or day pass. Seems very unfair to exclude. Most parks have a non resident option Smithtown has none. I called town hall and was told no access. Sad.

Hoyt Farm is a great place for families with small children to visit and play as mentioned in other reviews. I will often bike there with my daughter and spend time at the playground and then feed the farm animals. In the winter with fresh snow on the ground, you can sled down a small hill right next to the main parking lot.

My favorite part of being a Smithtown resident is having free access to Hoyt. My kids love it and we come year-round.
