AMAZING PLACE!!!! I never regretted that I went there with my family. First of all this spot is very close to New York City, it took me only one hour and 24 minutes to get there. First we drove to the top of the mountain, beautiful view, tower to visit. They have snack machines and restroom as well as parking there. After that we want to the main parking lot, its huge, you will always find where to park your car (the price is $10). Many people occupied tables for picnic, most of them located by the river where you can rent a kayak or paddle boat. I do not know prices because we did not do it. This place have a small zoo, it is really small, but gorgeous. You can see some animals, such as: bears, foxes, birds, and amphibians. There are two small museums. After walking through the zoo you coming out to the bridge also having a great view, but it is very windy there so hold on to your heats. We also visited huge swimming pool, it cost $2 a person (they do not have any lockers, only changing rooms and showers). Pool is great with variable depth range (deepest is 11ft) There is a spot to jump into water. There are small cafe and restaurant located inside bear mountain inn building. Visit this place and you will never regret it.

One of my absolute favorite places to go with my family! Awesome for those that want a day in nature,m or even just for a quick BBQ/picnic. This park is so big, so there is plenty to do and see. The best time to go is definitely fall when the leaves have changed colors. Incredible views. People fly their drones on the cliff. The photography is great! Highly recommend for any of those looking to get away from the city.

Perfect weekend getaway from the Big Apple. At 55 miles from the city, there's never an excuse for not getting out into the wilderness. Even better, once you hike up to Perkins Memorial tower at the top, you can look at the NYC skyline in the horizon, which looks like a histogram on clear days. Don't miss out on the lake right next to the parking lot which has pedal boating in the summer and fall. It's worth walking around the lake just for those incredible reflections on the surface.

It is a very nice state park. However, I would recommend staying away during the summer if you are not here for the lake. Hiking is absolutely awesome here and you can see new York City on a clear day. Visit in the fall to see awesome autmn colors. It is also kept very clean! The only downfall is that in summer parking is $10!

There are tons of trails to explore. They are all searchable online and easy to research when preparing for your trip. You must wear boots and only some are suitable for animals and beginners. The trail we took was blazed white. The views at the top are a great place to stop and have lunch because of the rocky exterior and places to sit and get shade.
