Bear Creek/Thompson Park is located at the Harbor on Lake Road between Knickerbocker Road and Furnace Road. It offers boat-launching facilities, with a permit. There is also a large grassy area along the lakeshore, which is suitable for picnics or just enjoying the view of Lake Ontario. LAUNCHING PERMITS are available at the Ontario Town Clerk's Office. The fee is $15.00 for residents and $50.00 for non-residents, for yearly permits. Day launching permits are available during the boating season at $5.00 a day.
