Legendary folk singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot is returning to the Paramount Theater!
After 50 years of writing hits and selling millions of albums worldwide, Gordon Lightfoot has achieved the status of an international folk-rock legend. It’s safe to say that he has secured a place with some very exclusive company atop the list of all-time greats. Lightfoot’s song catalogue is vast and includes timeless hits like “Sundown,” “If You Could Read My Mind,” “The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald,” “Early Morning Rain,” and “Carefree Highway” -to name a few. He has recorded 20 albums and has five Grammy nominations. In 2012 Lightfoot’s legacy was further enhanced when he was inducted to the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Aside from success in writing, singing, and performing his own material, Lightfoot has found fortune in having his songs recorded and performed by other great artists including Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Judy Colins, Sara Mclachlan, and Barbra Streisand. This year is special for Lightfoot, who has announced plans for a cross-country USA tour titles “Gordon Lightfoot in Concert- The Legend Lives On...” The tour features well-known huts as well as some deep album cuts for the die-hard fans. All songs are woven together with some of Lightfoot’s own behind the scene stories and personal anecdotes about his historic 50-year musical career.
